Auditioning Fundamentals + Acting with Body & Mind + Industry Must-Knows = A complete course to take control of your career! - Ages 18+ - All levels of experience - 2-hour session every week for 8 weeks (via Zoom) WEEK ONE: INTRO Introduction to the entertainment industry and exploration of fundamental aspects of acting techniques. WEEKS TWO AND THREE: AUDITIONS (PART 1) Everything you need to stand out in your theatrical & commercial auditions. Nail your self-tapes and dominate lighting & sound to turn in professional auditions! Learn how to break down scripts/copy to make strong decisions! Practice by doing! WEEK FOUR: BREATH WORK Harness the power of breath to manipulate your emotions, improve presence, and ground your performance. WEEK FIVE: THOUGHTS Thoughts are FUNDAMENTAL in acting. Take control of your thoughts to simplify the process and stay present in your scenes. Learn strategies to overcome fears and blocks, gain confidence, stay in the moment, and use your inner monologue to maintain authenticity and make room for nuance. You'll learn that you are "enough." WEEKS SIX AND SEVEN: AUDITIONS (PART 2) We return to auditions. This time, applying the tools acquired from breath work, thoughts, and auditioning techniques to elevate your self-tapes and performances. WEEK EIGHT: THE INDUSTRY AND Q&A In our final week, we'll cover the business aspect of acting. Understand how to navigate relationships with agencies and managers, the importance of unions like SAG-AFTRA, and how to move in the industry without waiting for permission from others. This session concludes with an extensive Q&A, giving you the opportunity to address any lingering questions and prepare for your next steps in the world of acting. *Students will receive their work throughout the courses to track their progress* *OPTIONAL: Package with TWO Private Coaching Sessions INSTRUCTOR Luis Selgas is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University's School of Film & Television in Los Angeles, California. He has over 20 years of experience in Hollywood as a Casting Producer and a successful acting career that includes TV and film (including Netflix) and countless commercials.
